Timeline of History in Social Studies 10
Instructions
- Read the section in the textbook that has been assigned to you.
- Fill in the KWL (Know, Wonder, Learned) Sheet to show your comprehension of the topic.
- Select at least two events to put into the online timeline using the Google Drive Doc that I have shared with you. Each event must have: (a) a DATE (MM/DD/YY), (b) a title followed by your First Name and Initial of Last Name, (c) a related image/video/quote, (d) a short summary, AND (e) a brief explanation of the significance or consequences of the event.
- All you have to do is fill in the appropriate boxes on the Google Doc spreadsheet. Everything saves automatically!!! **NOTE: DO NOT ERASE OTHER STUDENTS WORK. I can see every single change each of you makes. Use one of the empty rows or insert a new row into the spreadsheet (NOTE: Avoid leaving empty rows between each of the student entries... This may result in events being left off the Timeline). The rows do not even have to be in chronological order in the spreadsheet. As long as you include a date, the Timeline JS program will put all the events in order for us!
- Refresh the Timeline page on my website and your historical event will appear on the timeline.
HINTS/TIPS: Technology is wonderful yet frustrating. To avoid losing your work, always keep a copy on file (ex. in a Word.doc). Then, copy and paste the information into the appropriate cells in your event row on the Google Doc spreadsheet. If something crazy goes wrong, you still have a copy as a backup.
